The Touch of Longing is Everywhere, 2020

During the height of the pandemic ,musician, composers Jason Trammell , Matana Roberts and Žibuoklė Martinaitytė and I were quarantined miles apart in Brooklyn, Berlin and Lithuania respectively.

We started talking about a creating a project that could be shared with others during this time of unrest and uncertainty defining our collective experience. Our process was straightforward: we would only use tools we had on hand and make work referencing shared themes: memory, loss, time and dreams. Each musician and I made a total of 8 one-minute videos and posted them on social media.

The title is a line from a poem by poet, Yehuda Amichai

In the summer of 2020, I began a linked series of collaborative works with three composers- each of us quarantined many miles apart- in the U.S., Germany and Lithuania. I worked with each composer to make sets of 8 short sound scroll videos that could be shared widely during this time of unrest and uncertainty defining our collective experience.
